The kit is first used like a traditional mushroom kit with the mushrooms grown in a moderate and protected environment. But then, once the mushrooms have ceased growing, the buyer sows the supplied herb seeds in the nutrient-rich mushroom compost and the waxed-coated box is moved outside where the herbs grow – until ready for harvest.
